Tengpoche Monastery is the largest and most active Monastery in Everest region. Sherpa's believe that Buddhism was introduced into this region towards the end of the 17th century. Trekking to this area is a great opportunity to view the great mountains including The Mount Everest avoiding the altitude sickness. Thanks to the regular flights to Lukla from Kathmandu, this trek is possible to do in such a short period of time.
